Mass grave containing 32 bodies discovered in Mexico’s Guanajuato state

Mexican police have discovered a hidden mass grave containing 32 bodies on an abandoned property in Guanajuato state, central Mexico.

The site was uncovered during a search for missing persons in the city of Irapuato, according to the regional prosecutor’s office.

Fifteen of the bodies—found in what officials described as “fragmented and complex conditions”—have been fully identified. The grave was discovered last week, and recovery operations took place between July 30 and August 2. Investigations into the site and the identities of the remaining victims are ongoing.
